About

Built by a founder
who needed it.

Gilded Art Works exists because we kept paying a designer to set paperwork that a database already knew how to fill in.

The Origin

From frustration to platform

Every time we shipped a painting internationally — whether to a collector in Berlin, a fair in Basel, or a gallery in London — the paperwork was assembled by hand. Gallery brochure. Customs technical sheet. Certificate of authenticity. Three documents, every single shipment, retyped into InDesign or Word from a record that already held every field.

After years of this process, the question became obvious: why isn't there software for this? The art world has gallery management tools, CRM systems, even AI-powered valuation platforms. But nobody had built the most basic operational tool: a way to generate the documents that travel with the crate.

So we built it. Gilded Art Works turns one artwork record into print-ready documentation in under two minutes. The certificate that started this cost our own gallery $400 with a designer; that is one invoice, not an industry rate, and it is the only figure we will quote you.

Accuracy

HS codes, declared values, and provenance data must be correct. The classifier maps your medium to one of ten tariff codes — and when it cannot place a medium with confidence, it marks the line for review rather than guessing. An unclassified line costs you a phone call to your broker. A confident wrong one costs you a fine.

Quality

Every document is set to the standard collectors, curators and customs officers expect. Editorial typography, the artwork image on the page, and your gallery name, logo and document number on every sheet — which no design can suppress. Eight designs, four print sizes.

Speed

Enter the artwork once and every document reads from that entry — so the medium on the certificate is the medium on the customs invoice, and there is nothing left to retype. Entry to print-ready PDF takes under two minutes.
